1. The manufacturing process of neon lights, regardless of whether they are made of exposed tubes, powder tubes, or colored tubes, is basically the same. They all require processes such as glass tube forming, electrode sealing, degassing by bombardment, filling with inert gas, sealing the vent holes, and aging.
2. Glass tube forming-This is the process by which workers, following the outline of a pattern or text, use a special torch to heat, bake, and bend a straight glass tube into the desired shape. The skill level of the worker is easily visible to the naked eye; tubes made by less skilled workers are prone to unevenness at bends, being too thick or too thin, having internal wrinkles, or being misaligned and not flat.
3. Electrode sealing-This is the process of connecting the bent tube to the electrodes and vent holes using a torch. The joint must not be too thin or too thick, and the joint must be completely melted; otherwise, slow leakage will easily occur.
4. Degassing by bombardment-This is the key to the production of neon lights. The process involves bombarding the electrodes with high-voltage electricity, heating them to burn away invisible substances such as water vapor, dust, and oil inside the lamp tube, thus removing these harmful substances and creating a vacuum in the glass tube. After the glass tube is thoroughly degassed, it is filled with an appropriate amount of inert gas and aged to complete the neon light manufacturing process.
